Who we are

This website is run by Madeira Diaspora SA, a non-profit company registered in South Africa (registration number 2026/788342/08), trading as Madeira Diaspora South Africa (MDSA). Email: info@madeiradiasporasa.co.za.

By using this website, placing an order, becoming a member or listing a business, you agree to these terms.

Prices and payment

All prices are in South African rand. Merchandise prices do not include delivery; the courier fee is shown at checkout before you pay. You can pay by card through PayFast, or by EFT into the MDSA bank account using the reference we give you. MDSA never sees or stores your card details.

An order is confirmed once we have received your payment.

Orders and merchandise

We confirm every order by email. Photos of merchandise show the design; colours may look slightly different on screen. If an item is out of stock after you have paid, we tell you and refund you in full.

Membership

Membership of MDSA is voluntary. Until 31 December 2026 (our launch offer) you choose the amount, from the minimum shown, and pay it once-off or monthly. From January 2027 set membership fees will apply, and we will let members know the new fees before then.

A monthly membership continues until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time by emailing info@madeiradiasporasa.co.za, and no further payments are taken after that.

Membership contributions support the work of MDSA and are not refundable, except where a payment was made in error, such as a duplicate payment or the wrong amount, and you tell us within 7 days.

MDSA may end a membership if a member's conduct harms the organisation or its members.

Business directory

Until 31 December 2026 (our launch offer) you pay once, any amount from the minimum shown, to list your business. After that date the listing fee may change. You are responsible for what your listing says, and you must have the right to use the picture you add.

MDSA checks every listing before it appears. We may decline or remove a listing that is offensive, misleading or not suitable for a family community. A declined listing is refunded in full. MDSA does not endorse or guarantee any business in the directory.

Using this website

Do not misuse the website, try to break into it, or copy its content for commercial use without our permission. We work to keep the website accurate and available, but we cannot promise it will always be free of errors or interruptions.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page applies to any order, membership or listing made while it is shown.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of South Africa, including the Consumer Protection Act and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act. Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under those Acts.
