Preserving Madeirense culture and traditions
Madeira Diaspora South Africa (MDSA) is an inclusive, non-profit community initiative dedicated to uniting Madeirense people in South Africa.
We preserve and celebrate our culture, heritage and traditions, strengthen the bonds between generations, support our community and keep our connection to Madeira alive.

Our vision
To build a united, connected, inclusive and thriving Madeirense community in South Africa that proudly preserves and celebrates its culture, heritage and identity; strengthens the bonds between generations; supports its people, families, organisations and institutions; and ensures that our Madeirense traditions, values and connection to Madeira are carried forward for generations to come.
Our roots
Our Madeirense roots are an important part of who we are, strengthened by our Portuguese heritage and enriched by the country we proudly call home, South Africa.

The strength and future of our community depend upon our ability to connect people, preserve our heritage, encourage participation and create a sense of belonging.
Staying connected
A platform through which Madeirenses and their descendants throughout South Africa can remain connected with one another, with their cultural heritage and with Madeira.

Individuals and families, youth, women, artists and performers, clubs, organisations, businesses and professionals, creating opportunities for cooperation and mutual support.

A nossa visão é proporcionar uma plataforma através da qual os madeirenses e os seus descendentes, em toda a África do Sul, possam manter-se ligados entre si, ao seu património cultural e à Madeira.
Procuramos reunir indivíduos e famílias, jovens, mulheres, artistas e intérpretes culturais, grupos sociais e de atividades, organizações comunitárias, clubes e instituições, empresas e profissionais, criando oportunidades de comunicação, cooperação, participação e apoio mútuo.
